Van der Valk Plaza Beach & Dive resort Bonaire is a nine-hour flight from the Netherlands. Bonaire is a small island of 288 km2 and is located in the Caribbean Sea near the coast of Venezuela. The resort is 5 minutes away from the airport and within 15 minutes you are in the capital Kralendijk.
Resort
The resort offers many facilities to make it an unforgettable holiday. For starters, you can book an all-inclusive stay. All worries are taken off your hands and so you can completely unwind during your holiday. This means unlimited enjoyment of all meals, snacks, drinks and entertainment. The resort has its own beach where you as a hotel guest can use the beach beds for free. There is also the luxurious Magna outdoor pool with a view over the sea. There is also entertainment such as live music on various nights of the week and an open-air cinema once a week.
Activities
Would you like to your holiday actively? The resort has plenty of options for you to choose from. Think of a zumba class, aqua zumba in the pool or water aerobics. What should not be missing is a game of beach tennis. This is a very popular sport in Aruba. There is also a beach tennis court. Would you like to enjoy the sea and to be active?? Then go out with a kayak. Or try to keep your balance on a paddle board and enjoy paddle boarding. Snorkelling and diving are of course the best activities to discover the underwater world in Bonaire. The resort is located on the house reef “Eighteen Palms” and has its own diving school: Toucan Diving. Divers of all levels are welcome here, from novice to highly experienced.
Explore the island
Due to the limited size of the island, everything is easily accessible. Rent a car, scooter or bicycle and discover what the island has to offer. Would you like to spot flamingos? Then go to the beautiful Goto Lake where pink flamingos can be found. Want to learn more about the history of the island? Then go to the salt pans and come across the various slave huts along the way. End your day in the capital Kralendijk and enjoy a snack and drink at the various restaurants, bars and cafes.
