Walking through the Gooi- and Vecht area

Water animals and cuckoo flowers

The Loosdrechtse lakes are part of the Vecht lake area. You can see many different water animals due to the high quality of the water. There are fun hiking trips in the area that you can do, such as the Oppad-Kromme Rade route. Along the way you will find, among other things, swamp forest with flowers such as the cuckoo flower, bulrush and water-violet.

Drifting sand dunes and country seats

‘t Gooi is one of the oldest nature preserves in the Netherlands. You can walk in the moorland and along great drifting sand dunes or ‘White Mountains’. There are wetlands and swamp forests. During your walk you will come along beautiful country seats and estates. You will find ancient burial mounds from the bronze age at the moorlands.
